Grayson and Carter legally have 2 moms! YEAH!
Of course our court date was on the coldest day of the year so we had them bundled up! In addition to their clothes, they have on a fleece one piece outfit, a fleece hat, the hood of their fleece one piece, and their fleece lined stroller bag (with the hood of that pulled up!) Plus, we covered them with the plastic wind protector. I think they were the only warm ones in Baltimore that day! Carter looks happy to be out and about - Gray wishes we'd let him stay home and play where it is warm.
Here we are standing in front of the judge. It took all of 15.46 seconds to deem Leanne a "fit and proper" parent to Grayson and Carter. ;) Literally. Traci video taped it and when I uploaded it, from the time we walked up there till the time we returned to our seats was 15.46 seconds. Hee hee. Granted, all of the leg work was done beforehand, but it was crazy. There were about 10-15 families having their adoption finalized and we were all out of there by 9:30 (it started at 9am)(well, we were the last ones out at 9:45 - but it takes awhile to get everyone packed back up in their warm gear!)

With the nice judge who deemed us a legal family. We even have the adoption decree to prove it! We'll get an amended birth certificate with both of our names on it in about 60 days! :)

Of course, it is wonderful to have this in place. We feel so fortunate to live in a state where we could have a second parent adoption. But when I asked Leanne if she felt differently, she said no. And really that night life was no different. Grayson recreated the Linda Blair scene from The Exorcist (complete with pureed peas) at dinner and Carter needed someone to pat his bottom at bedtime so he could get to sleep. We both collapsed into bed exhausted - full of love and joy for our family.

Congratulations on successfully completing the adoption process. It's an exciting milestone and something to happily remember.
The boys look great. They will be off and running soon.
