Oh, the lengths we'll go to have some time alone!

When I got home last night, Leanne said her right eye was really bothering her. She said that she her contacts had bothered her all day and when she'd taken them out around 4:30, her eyes were got worse. By 8pm, she could barely open her eye, it was red, watering, sensitive to light, and very painful. We called out friend Suzanne to come over and stay with the boys (who were asleep) so I could drive Leanne over to the urgent care center. Turns out that somehow she'd scratched her eye and had an infection. They gave her some drops and sent us home. We were home by 10.

On another note, Grayson has finally figured out the talking thing. It seems like all of a sudden he figured out he had a voice and his voice could make words and he could talk. On Friday, Mia said she was holding a spoon and he came over and said "spoon" plain as day. Since then, he's added "down", "eat", "sign", "stop", "go", "eat", "milk", "dog", "cat", "up" and he was signing the Singing Time theme song this morning. Way to go Gray!

Here are a couple of pictures of the kids from this week. This is Carter from our mall adventure on Monday after they'd been sick. Notice the new shirt. :)

Grayson eating his ice cream. Notice his serious face because I'd put down the cup of ice cream in exchange for the camera. He seems none to pleased, huh?

The boys have suckers for mothers. This time is was my turn to be the softie. On Saturday we went to Sams Wholesale for our regular shopping (and vacuum sighting.) A few weeks ago we saw a small vacuum that was rechargeable and had a built in dust buster. I let Carter play with the display and he was soooo happy. We decided that it would be great for picking up food that gets tossed off the highchairs and for quick kitchen clean-up - but we agreed to get it after we get our tax refund. Well, this week when we started leaving the aisle, Carter pitched a fit. I gave in and we walked out of the store with the new vac - before the tax refund. Really, nothing makes Carter more happy than vacuuming. But at least he comes by it honestly. My mother used to love to vacuum - well, I don't know if she loved to vacuum - but it was important to her and she used to do it daily. We used to joke that we would have a vacuum engraved on her tombstone one day. :)
