It was another weekend of firsts! (I guess that is going to be a theme for quite some time, huh?)
Saturday morning started with a bang. Literally. Leanne was reading to the boys in their room while they crawled around. Somehow, Grayson fell and caught the corner of his eye on their toy box. Now, this wasn't the first bump or bruise - but the first one that drew blood and caused a swollen eye. He adamantly refused to let us ice it - and now looks like a boxer. I've been calling him "Bruiser." :)

After the incident, we headed to Old Town Alexandria for the 2007 Brien Bash and the St. Patrick's Day parade. We'd planned on getting their early (11ish) but the boys didn't wake till 10 and it took awhile to get everyone out the door. So, by the time we got there the festivities were in full swing. The boys went to their first bar (of many, I am going to assume) and a cool Irish bar at that! They were enthralled by the music (especially the drums), the people (and were great sports to be passed around while Leanne and I got to eat without juggling babies!!!), and the festivities. By the time we left the bar, the wind had picked up, the boys were sleepy, and the parade was coming to an end. We only saw a couple of minutes before heading to the car. Next year, I am sure the parade will be a much bigger deal!
We also got to use our new backpacks this weekend! They are great. So much easier to get around than using a double stroller. But wow. You get a full body workout carrying 25+lbs on your back. And as Leanne told me, "It is only going to get worse." Great. :)

Currently, it is 8:15. Leanne has been asleep on the guest bed with Grayson for an hour (for the past few weeks, he's woken between 9p-11p (although Friday night it was 2am before he called out and told us he was ready to see us!) refusing to go back to his crib and has been spending the night in our bed (teething? separation anxiety? sick? development stuff? our bed more comfy?) Tonight he woke shortly after going to bed and wouldn't go back to sleep in his crib. He is sick with a cold and can't breathe lying down. Rather than taking him to our bed and turning off the lights/tv, Leanne went to the guest room with him and apparently fell asleep too! :)
***Update: Gray and Leanne came back to our bed at 9pm (after deeming the guest room "too cold.") Rather than risk waking a sleeping baby with the glow of the laptop, we all turned in for the night. Less you think we actually got to sleep 9 whole hours, we were up most every hour on the hour with a tossing/turning/sneezing/coughing baby. College. They'll sleep through the night before college. Right????
