9 month stats!

We went to their 9 month appointment yesterday and got a clean bill for both of them (well, they both have some eczema on their face and Carter has some on his thighs that required hydrocordizone for a couple of weeks.) In light of this, we have become a fragrance-free and dye-free home. No more yummy smelling lavender baby lotion, no more babylicious baby soap, no more Dreft. We are now Aveeno and Dove users (well, for them anyway!)

Our doctor suggested that we sleep in Gray's room for a couple of nights so that when he wakes up in the middle of the night, we are there and he learns to self soothe and go back to sleep. We're willing to try it. We didn't last night, because it required getting prepped (air mattress/some reading material for us (who knows what time we'll have to go in there and sit with him)/getting Carter set up somewhere else since we REALLY don't want to wake Carter up if Gray fusses a lot during the night.) But we both admitted we are going to miss the little bugger...

They weighed/measured in at:
Grayson - 18lbs 2oz (16th percentile)
26.62 inches (5th percentile)

Carter - 22lbs 7oz (79th percentile)
27.25 inches (16th percentile)

And just to prove that they aren't always happy...

Bath time is wonderful when mom puts a lot of water in the tub! Great for splashing (and getting water everywhere!)


Side note: Here is what we looked like 4 years ago today. About this time, I was dressed in my dress, while Leanne sat in a chair in jeans and a button-down reading a magazine, chatting with Hutch/Robin/Anne, while I wondered if she was ever going to put her dress on! In the end, she did - less than 10 minutes before we walked down to the ceremony!!

In 4 years, we've:

Sold a house in Virginia
Bought a house in Maryland
Finished graduate school (me)
Finished all coursework for a PhD (Leanne)
Changed jobs (twice for each of us!)
Sold my cute Jetta
Became the practical owners of a minivan
Completed Leanne's 2nd parent adoption
...and most importantly became the moms of the two best boys in the world.

Life is pretty darn good!
