Wow. What a busy weekend!

Saturday we went to a Truck Touch. Now, for those of you not familiar with a Truck Touch (and I wasn't before I got the invite) they bring in several kinds of trucks (well, several types of vehicles) for the kids to explore, sit in, touch, ohh-ahh, and generally get giddy. The boys are really into things that move. Trucks. Buses. Airplanes. Trains. So, we figured our kids would love the Truck Touch. And they did. Thankfully, the rain stopped shortly before we got there - which made the adventure all the better. And while, they didn't go ballistic like we thought they might, they did enjoy it (in their own reserved kinda way!) They sat on a motorcycle, walked through the UPS truck (and got to 'drive' it and honk the horn!), get in the back of an ambulance (I told them that I hope this is the only way they see an ambulance!), sit in a police car (ditto for the police car!), explore a fire truck, see the dump truck and bulldozer, go in a camper, and look at a hand glider. In addition, we saw a few families we know, splashed in mud puddles, collected rocks from the gravel parking lot, had a snack, and danced to the live music. Of course, the batteries on the camera died as soon as we got there. Go figure. But it was a great event and we look forward to doing it again next year!

Mother's Day. Obviously, our kids didn't get the message that if you can't (or chose not to) let your mother sleep in. Or you can't cook and serve breakfast in bed. Or you can't buy a box of chocolate you should at least be in a good mood. Ok, at least a decent mood. Both kids woke up cranky. Plain, ole cranky. We finally got to the grocery store with them around 10:30 and found Carter dead asleep. I could not wake him up. Finally 20 minutes later he decided he'd wake up and eat his way through the grocery store. Bagel. Check. Yogurt covered cranberries. Check. By the time we got home, Gray was sound asleep and for the second time in his entire life, he transferred to his crib (the first being yesterday!) It took me an hour to get Carter to go to sleep and Gray slept for 3 hours!!! Thankfully, they woke in better moods. We went to the mall to buy them new sandals (isn't Mother's Day supposed to be about us???), had lunch, and got ice cream. It ended up to be a nice day after all.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there who are reading this!!!
