Here are some highlights:
Thursday – Eric (my roommate in Tampa) and his partner Al stopped by en route to see Al’s cousin in Alexandria (who has 3 month old twin boys - Eric and Al were getting thier kid fix!) We went to Inner Harbor and had dinner at the Hard Rock Café. The boys were great sports (seeing how we kept them out late and they were strapped into something for a few hours!) and it was great seeing them. I can’t believe it has been 5 years since we saw them last!
Friday morning Leanne went to the urgent care clinic and was diagnosed with pneumonia. This is the 3rd time she’s had it since June. She sounds (still) horrible and feels miserable. She has an appointment with a pulmonologist on the 8th of January.
The boys still LOVE their kitchen. They stir, pretend to eat, carry food around, put it in the fridge, if you are really lucky, they’ll offer you a bite!
The anti-sleep monster has taken up residence in our house. Grayson is back bunking in with us starting at 9 or 10pm – which makes watching a movie or reading a book difficult. Leanne is much more patient about comforting him in his room and not getting him out of his bed – so once she is feeling better (and no longer has a 4 pack a day cough) – we’ll work on getting him to stay in his bed. Carter has also taken to waking during the night. I am hoping that once we get back into our routine, things will get better. Because this isn’t working for any of us. Last night I was up with them from 1:15a-3:30a. This is like having a newborn - well not exactly, but it sucks.
Although naps are still going well. With the exception of last Wednesday, they are going down easily, sleeping in their cribs, and sleeping a respectable 90 minutes to 2 hours.
The boys are learning a ton of new signs. We are using sign language with them to help them communicate with us. They know dog, cat, hat, water, milk, more, eat, mom, fish, baby, apple, bird, flower, ball, car – and Carter signs “Grayson.” They don’t always use their signs to tell us what they want – but they do them when asked to show us (“How do you sign ________”) and sometimes even when we don’t ask!
Carter can point to a dog, fish, tree, apple, cat, bird, and car in his dictionary!
Grayson’s balancing is astonishing. Yesterday we found him balancing on the arm of the sofa. Astonishing and terrifying.
I am sure there is more, but my brain is mush. Here are some more pictures from the holidays!
Carter dressed on Christmas Eve. The milk was his dessert before bed.

Gray is his church outfit.
The boys reading The Polar Express and Twas the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve.
Leanne and the boys on Christmas morning. Note our matching jammies (I had them on too!)
