We decided to get the heck out of Dodge and head to Williamsburg, VA for the night. We both have Monday off and wanted to get a change of scenery for a day or two. We contemplated heading north, but it is colder there than here and we didn't really want to drive too far. So, we are going to drive to Williamsburg with stop in Richmond to see Wendi and meet Logan.

I called the Embassy Suites in Williamsburg on Friday to reserve 2 cribs for our room. We intentionally chose a suite hotel, so we could put them to bed at their normal 6-7 bedtime and still hang out with friends/eat dinner/watch tv in another room. However, I was told that they could not put 2 cribs in the room. It is a "fire hazard." Hmm. We have twins. They need to sleep somewhere. The helpful front desk clerk suggested that we either 1) get a room with 2 double beds so that one (or both) could sleep in the bed. Um. Nope. They don't sleep in beds alone. They often end up in bed with us and in that case we NEED a king sized bed. or 2) We purchase another room. Hold on. Let me stop laughing. We should purchase another room for our 9 month old twins? Oh. Yea. Let me get my credit card out.

In the end, they are going to put a crib in the room and we will bring our pack and play. Shhhhhh.

Packing for an overnight with the boys is a chore. I have made lists. Lists of lists. Who knew that 2 boys require so much stuff just to be gone for less than 36 hours. Most of it is food related - bottles, sippy cups, pureed foods, cereal, blah, blah, blah. It will be so much easier when they are able to eat whatever we eat. Of course, something else will be difficult. :)
