Another weekend down. Phew.

Leanne successfully survived her surgery. She felt great when she left the hospital on Friday morning, but by Friday evening she'd overdone it and felt pretty miserable. That continued through Saturday, but by Sunday she was defiantely on the upswing. She still gets tired easily and still has some pain, but it is slowly improving.

I think the boys knew that mom was off-kilter this weekend. On Saturday Grayson refused to sleep. I think he took a 10 minute nap between the time he woke and when I finally tossed the boys into the car for a nap and a trip to Target and the grocery store. In addition, he only ate about 6oz all day long (normally he has 18-24!) Carter didn't fare much better on Saturday. He did fall asleep for a nap but woke to Gray's screaming after 20 minutes or so. Thankfully, the short nap in the car and getting out and about (aka seeing the craziness at Target) kept the evening protests to a dull roar.

On Sunday, the boys were back to their old lovable (not that they weren't lovable on Saturday, but..... ;) selves. They napped well, ate well, and hung out with the moms. With Chad's help, we did manage to put up a Christmas tree in the living room. So, at least it is starting to feel a bit more like Christmas. :) Putting up the tree was quite the production. Leanne was pretty exhausted from our lunch outing, so she was relegated to the couch to supervise Chad and I hang lights and put ornaments on the tree. Well, Chad and I aren't the most....uh....particular people when it comes to light decoration and Leanne is quite the perfectionist ("weave them in and out.") I was told that you should have 100 lights per foot. I think we ended up with 300 lights on our 5ft tree - and that is only because we went back and added another strand. Undoing that thing is going to be F-U-N. :) But in anycase, we have a tree.

And of course, what post would be complete without a picture or two of the boys???

Boys happy to be eating breakfast on Saturday. (this was before the meltdown on 2006!) :p

I'm glad Leanne is feeling better. Maybe she will have some time off from work which is good around the holiday.
People with children should have a tree. I don't have one and don't want one. I have a tiny living tree, actually a houseplant. I sent Alison the ornament today; I did not unpack the box sent to me, so it may be something weird.
The 2 photos below the tree are excellent! So cute.
