The last installment. I will be adding pictures soon. I promise!
Monday (2/9)
We were up bright and early to get to the airport. Thankfully, the kids seemed to be feeling okay (we were waiting for the other shoe to drop the entire time.) I still wasn’t feeling 100%, so Leanne chased them around the airport till it was time to board. Everyone (but me) napped on the plane – although Carter could never get really comfortable and slept fitfully (which probably accounts for me not sleeping.)
Of course, one more thing had to happen – and the car wouldn’t start when Leanne went to retrieve it out of the garage. We’ve had this problem before that when we are unloading (or loading) the car, we accidentally hit the switch for the overhead light and in the daylight can’t see that it is on. And when we go back….dead battery. Thankfully, an attendant was nearby and jumped the car without any issues.
We stopped for lunch at our favorite Mexican place and headed home. While we had a great time (for the most part!) we were all really glad to be home. Everyone got bathed and in their pajamas by 3pm and Leanne and I started doing the countdown for bedtime! 8pm couldn’t come soon enough! We watched a lot of tv and did a lot of lounging – the kids were happy to have some down time.
All in all it was a really great trip. We had so much fun hanging our with friends, enjoying beautiful weather, and introducing the kids to “the mouse.” They still want to go to “Mickey Mousie’s House” daily. We’d always talked about taking a big trip when they get older – but we may end up doing several smaller trips. It was nice to go to the parks, relax, and not go 100 mph the entire time. Who knows when it will be back – hopefully soon – I never got on Pirates of the Caribbean!
