Funny for today.

This morning we took the kids to vote. The plan was for Leanne to go early and then I'd bring the kids once we got up and got ready. When she was done she was going to bring them home while I stood in line. Leanne went to the polls first (she got there at 6:20 for a 7am opening) and the kids and I arrived about 7:10. Leanne exited around 7:20, but the kids didn't want to go home - they were happily eating the Girl Scout Cookies that they were selling to everyone waiting in line (smart Girl Scouts!) and were eagerly anticipating "pushing the buttons on the computer" and "getting a sticker with an American flag on it." So we all waited for an hour, pushed the appropriate buttons (I made them hold out one finger as to not vote for the unintended candidates!) and got our stickers. They were thrilled.

But en route to vote, I was telling them we were going to go vote for our next President. I guess all they heard was "present", because the rest of the car ride they talked about presents and how they were going to give Mommy a pumpkin (they were holding pumpkin Pez dispensers) for her "happy day" (Happy Birthday.) Then they sang Happy Birthday (or "Happy Day") to Mommy.

Too cute. I love having conversations with them.
