We had a wonderful time when Nana and Granddaddy came to visit! They got here on Monday night and we got a chance to introduce them to our favorite Mexican restaurant. I think Carter ate his weight in rice (he ate his, mine, and most of the bowl we ordered since he was still hungry.) The rest of the week, we were pretty much on our normal routine. Everyone did their own thing during the day and then we had dinner and played in the evening.

Friday afternoon everyone (aside me from me – I was still at work) met at a fall festival where their friend Rhyder’s grandmother works. From what I can tell, everyone had a blast going in the maze, pulling the wagon, and walking in the corn! Afterwards we went to Damon’s for dinner.

Saturday we were at the mall just after they opened. After we ate bagels at Panera we rode escalators and elevators, and rode the carousel. Afterwards, we took the boys to Gymboree for class. We'd promised the boys for weeks that they could ride the Metro with Nana and Grandaddy and so we opted to go to the Cheesecake Factory to eat. Rather than take a REALLY long Metro ride to Friendship Heights, we drove to the Grovesner station in the pouring rain/traffic and took the Metro from there. The boys were thrilled, but it would have been so much easier to just go to the one in Columbia - 20 minutes from us! (By the time we drove to the station and took the train, it was at least an hour…) We must really love those munchkins!

Sunday we were going to go to Elioak Farm, but thought it would be a muddy mess from the rain. So Leanne took the kids for a long walk while we got ready and then we went to Mimi's for breakfast and Costco to pick up a few things. Carter fell asleep on the way home and didn't transfer to his bed - and kept Grayson awake. So no one napped. Nana carved pumpkins with them (well, she carved while they ran around the yard.) Then Nana and Grandaddy decided to head out so they wouldn't have to drive the whole drive in one day (14 hours.) We went to the grocery store to get stuff to make homemade turkey chili, but on the way home we decided we were too tired and went through McDonalds. We ended up having a picnic in the living room while the boys watched Signing Times and then a bath. The kids were in bed by 7:15, Leanne was out before 8:30, and I was out by 9. Evidently we all need naptime in this house.
