From the weekend of October 10-12
Friday when I got home Mia was still there (Leanne had already gotten home but they were all at the playground.) Mia decided to go to dinner with us so we all went to dinner and then Mia came back in and helped with bath (since Grayson insisted that "Mina do it." (For whatever reason, Grayson calls Mia “Mina.”) Silly kid.Saturday we cleaned the house, got the boys hair cut (well, Grayson got a haircut. Carter just had his wings over his ears snipped. The kid hasn't needed a real haircut yet!) and went to Gymboree. After a ridiculously long nap, we headed to DC for Jurgen's 30th b-day party at RFD (a bar in DC. But before you call CPS for taking our kids to a bar, it was in the back/private room of the bar!) Grayson had talked incessantly all week about riding the train, the Metro, the escalator, and the elevator. Really, I think it was all we talked about (“Jurgen’s party?” “Yes, we are going to Jurgen’s party on Saturday.” “Ride Metro? Escalator? Elevator?” Plus he’s taken to saying, “Stand back! Doors closing!” It cracks us up every time.)
The day had finally come and Grayson was beside himself was beside himself with excitement. Carter was happy to go, but just not so enthusiastic! We did the trip without strollers and they did great walking. They had fun running around the back room, eating cake, and being silly. We had fun drinking at the open bar (although not too much!)
On Sunday morning, the kids were playing with our alarm clocks yesterday while we were getting dressed for church (We are church hopping to try to find a church we like. We’ve wanted to go for the last several months, but the kids unusual proclivity to nap in the morning was a hindrance. Now that they are napping after lunch, we can easily get to church.) Anyway, it should serve as a reminder to always check them before bed. The guest room one went off (BLARING!) at 1am. Mine went off at 3:07. Leanne's went off at 5:32. Carter woke for the day at 6:05 and Grayson woke not long thereafter – asking to ride the Metro and elevator and escalator…..
Carter and Grayson riding the Metro (or as Grayson calls it, "the Metoe" with their backpacks on. They love their backpacks and love it even more when we stuff them full of toys!

Finally! I'm in post!
Its not the frequency, but the excitement of reading new entries. Of course, you can't go more than two weeks without an entry during the holidays, including pictures!!! How about a nice family picture for the holidays?
